Blog Marketing That Drives Blog Traffic

blog marketing Do you ever find yourself exhausted trying new blog marketing strategies to drive traffic to your blog?
It’s hard enough to keep cranking out useful content for your own blog, but then you have to come up with more unique ideas and articles to pitch to other blogs when guest posting.

And even when I do offer up a post to another blogger, there’s no guarantee that it will get accepted. (Although I do try to pitch a concept to another blogger before I write the post. If they accept, then I write the post. This also forces me to let it go!)

Guest posting is a tried and true way of driving blog traffic and getting those much needed backlinks to your blog, but fortunately it’s not the only way. Sometimes we just don’t have the time or energy to write a guest post. But you don’t have to let your blog marketing efforts stagnate as a result.

Diversify To Make Money Blogging

diversify-etftrendsDiversification is smart when it comes to investing your money. Smart money managers advise you to spread your money around and to not put all your eggs in one money basket. Diversification protects you from losing all your assets in a market upheaval. The sharp decline in stock prices over the last few years is sure proof that being all in with one stock is risky business.

So what does this have to do with making money online? Here the principle of diversification applies not to how you invest your money but how you make it. Putting all of your effort eggs into one income basket will leave you with a trickle rather than a stream of blogging income.

So what does that mean exactly? It means that you need a good handle on the various ways you can make money blogging, and you need to know how to be productive with your time and energies in order to create an blog income stream. Continue Reading →

In this blog post I’ll share with you  a couple of simple blogging tips that will help you get new visitors and more traffic.

Many beginning bloggers overlook simple tasks that will make a difference over time. Creating a blog from the ground up using the best practices will provide you with a bigger payoff later. One of the best practices concerns pinging services.

What the heck is a pinging service?

Whenever you publish or update a post in WordPress, it automatically notifies(pings) the most popular news and information servers. This is a great way to get attention and bring traffic back to your blog site. By default WordPress includes the listing (see below) to go out to Ping-O-Matic’s server.

Next, I’m going to share with you my list of 61 update services to add to your blog which will call the search engines and news aggregator sites whenever you post fresh content to your WordPress blog. Cool Blog Titles That Hook and Rank

I don’t click on headline titles that suck. Do you?blog titles

According to a study done a few years ago, 8 out of 10 people will read headline copy, but only 2 out of 10 will continue reading beyond the blog title.

Everyone has a short attention span when sorting through blog headlines, so it’s mandatory to have engaging and cool blog post headlines — if you want to hook your reader and rank with search engines.

So many blog marketers claim to have a magic bullet formula for creating cool blog titles for their posts. But I don’t think any such formula really exists. There are plenty of us who market online and feel smug about our ability to hook the reader with clever headlines. According to Dr. Flint McGlaughlin, CEO of MECLABS, the world’s largest independent research lab focused exclusively on marketing and sales,”There are no expert marketers; there are only experienced marketers and expert testers.”

Here are some tips for writing cool blog titles and a case study(below the fold) that will get you more traffic. Continue Reading →

7 Affiliate Marketing Income Rules

By Barrie Davenport Ruler

Affiliate marketing is the low-hanging financial fruit of blog marketing.

There are a million products out there in the big city, and it doesn’t take much to find one to paste on your blog with dreams of cash spewing from your monitor.

For those of you who don’t know what affiliate marketing is, Darren Rowse of gives a solid definition:

Perhaps the simplest way to explain affiliate marketing is that it is a way of making money online whereby you as a publisher are rewarded for helping a business by promoting their product, service or site.

There are a number of forms of these types of promotions but in most cases they involve you as a publisher earning a commission when someone follows a link on your blog to another site where they then buy something.

Within the first few months of my blogging career, an amazing blog entrepreneur was launching his signature product. It was Chris Guillebeau of The Art of Non-Conformity, and the product was his wildly successful signature course called The Empire Building Kit.

I knew of Chris and had been following his blog for a few months. So I decided to apply for his affiliate program and try my hand at making some affiliate marketing income.

With only a few hundred subscribers and my very first shot at affiliate marketing, I made $1000 in 3 months. I was ecstatic! I immediately started extrapolating what that would mean for me as my subscribers grew. When my subscribers doubled, I’d make $2000 in 3 months! Then I’d make $4000, $8000, oh my God — I’m going to be rich!

When I was naive about affiliate marketing! Continue Reading →
